Philip
Williams - Managing Director
Philip's lengthy career in the security industry started in August 1970 when he joined Securicor in Northampton.
In 1989, he was head hunted to become Managing Director of the Danish based ISS Group to head their UK security company Securisystem. In 1991, ISS was acquired by the Pinkerton organisation of America, after which Philip remained in an executive position and became one of their most successful Directors.
From 2001 until 2004, Philip was Operations Director for a medium sized company based in Norfolk.
In 2004 he was offered the opportunity to become a major shareholder in Equinox
as Executive Director, and then latterly as group Commercial Director.
He was responsible for all matters including operations, fleet, procurement and financial aspects
of the company.
In March 2008 Philip formed Akita. The vision for Akita is
to become a professionally run company, servicing its client base to high standards and at the same time
look after its employees, who, after all are the company’s future.
Philip lives in Bedford and is married to Margaret. Philip has 3 children, Anthony is an accountant, Joanne is a special needs teacher and
Charlotte, his youngest has moved with him from Equinox to take up the position of Commercial Director at Akita.
Shelagh
Cormack - HR and Training Manager
Shelagh started work in the security industry some 30 years ago having left the RAF.
She has a tremendous knowledge and skill base relating to training within the industry and during the last few years has added HR support to her CV. Having worked
in a variety of roles during her long career she has an all round knowledge of the workings of a security organization. Akita is fortunate to have her on board.
Charlotte
Williams - Commercial Director
Charlotte (Charlie as she prefers to be known) joined the security industry in 2005 after having been travelling in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that she worked at Exel Logistics in their corporate procurement department.
Charlie has an all round knowledge of administration, quality (achieving ACS &
ISO 9001) and health and safety
and is extremely organized and motivated in her approach to
Akita.
Anne
Cormack - Administration
Anne is an experienced administrator having worked for many years for a major Insurance Company and more recently a local Building & Maintenance Company and Plumbing Services Firm.
Robert Carter –
General Manager,
Client Services
Robert joined the Security Industry in 2004 predominately working on the events circuit. Since 2006 he has worked on a variety of projects and operations within the Industry and has now joined Akita on 01 July 2008 as our Operations Manager. In this role he will utilise all his past experience in managing teams of people and working for a variety of clients including Blue Chips Firms. Robert will alternately be responsible for a variety of the Operations within Akita. He will be based out of head office in Bedford.
